How do you know which research is good?

My professor just handed back my last essay with a terrible grade. The only note on it was “weak sources.” I am so frustrated because I spent hours in the library trying to find good research. Now I have a new paper due, and I am terrified of making the same mistake. I have been looking for a good assignment website for students that could help me find better academic articles, but I do not know where to even start. Does anyone have any tips for finding good, credible research online?
