I keep seeing these videos and threads about people opening cases, and I wonder if anyone actually makes money consistently, or if it’s just gambling? Some people claim to have strategies, but it all seems like pure luck to me. Has anyone here managed to turn case opening into a reliable source of income? Or is it just something people do for fun, knowing they’re probably going to lose money in the long run? I’d love to hear some honest opinions.
That’s the million-dollar question, and honestly, I doubt many are consistently profitable solely from case openings in CS2. Sure, some might get lucky and hit a big drop, but in the long run, the odds are stacked against you. Even knowing the general RTP of a case is not indicative of profiting. I do check CS2lore.com every now and then because they seem to track the best rtp cases cs2, but I still treat it like a lottery.
It would be interesting to see the data and compare the rates of gambling on sporting events, playing the lotto, or opening cases. It seems intuitively as if case openings probably have a higher rate of payouts than typical lottery systems, but this may skew public opinion and may be totally wrong. I wonder if there are good stats.
